Service members post the colors during the 5th celebration of life for West Loch Internees ceremony at the National Cemetery of the Pacific May 21, 2014, in Honolulu. The ceremony honored the memory of those who lost their lives during the West Loch disaster in 1944. The West Loch disaster was a maritime accident that occurred in Pearl Harbor. Landing Ship, Tanks (LSTs) were being loaded with munitions to support the U.S. Marine invasion of Saipan as part of World War II when three explosions killed approximately160 service members and injured 400.
