Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, a Hattiesburg, Miss., native and commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and Multi-National Division – Baghdad, speaks via video teleconference to an audience at Fort Hood during the promotion ceremony of Col. Allen Batschelet, who was promoted to the rank of brigadier general at Fort Hood, Texas, Nov. 26. Batschelet served as the chief of staff for 4th Inf. Div. and MND-B in Baghdad. He returned to Fort Hood to assume the position of deputy commanding general for the 4th Inf. Div. and will move to Fort Carson, Colo., to facilitate the division's move from Fort Hood following its deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 in early 2009.
