The common driver trainer (CDT) as configured for a Stryker is seen here in this undated photo. The CDT vehicle simulator is a computer-based device used for training new drivers as well as refining the skills of experienced drivers and replicates all the functions performed in an actual Stryker. The idea behind simulators, like the CDT, is to prepare Arrowhead Soldiers for upcoming training but at a fraction of the cost of live training. It is not intended to be a replacement for live training, but rather to augment the Soldier's instruction.
