Petty Officer 3rd Class Dana Cox, a firefighter aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, embraces her mother, Diana Russell, from Lancaster, Penn., during the New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz basketball game in Manhattan. Their unexpected reunion was arranged as part of a military appreciation event sponsored by NavyForMoms.com, a Web site for mothers of Navy Sailors and mothers who have questions about Navy life. Nearly 1,500 Sailors and Marines from Bataan are in New York for a week of community outreach events, public tours, participation in the city's annual Veterans Day Parade and support for the grand reopening of the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.
