Crew chiefs from the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron wash a B-52H Stratofortress at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., March 10, 2014. The B-52s are routinely washed every 180 days to prevent corrosion and every 30 days in high corrosion areas. After the wash is completed, post wash lube is used to force water and collected dirt out of high friction and moving areas. This keeps the parts functioning properly for safety during flights.
