Staff Sgt. Lisa Kiesewetter, 65th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog trainer, was MWD Dan's last handler within the 65th SFS before his retirement. The 65th SFS hosted a retirement ceremony March 25, 2014, for MWD Dan, a nine-year U.S. Air Force veteran. Dan served as a devoted team member to 10 MWD handlers as a narcotics detector on Lajes Field, Azores. He is now adopted by Senior Master Sgt. Jason Tranfaglia, 65th SFS manager.
