An AH-64D Apache attack helicopter from the 4th "Guns" Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, lets loose a stream of 30-mm rounds from its chain gun during an aerial gunnery at Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 8, 2008. The "Guns" provide close air support and reconnaissance to ground troops when in combat. This training allows them to hone their skills for future operations.
