Rick George, joint communication control center chief, Joint Task Force Civil Support, discusses the unit mission to University of Tennessee Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets during their visit here March 20, 2014. More than 20 cadets received a mission brief and took a tour of the headquarters building as part of their spring 2014 Hampton Roads military base tour. JTF-CS anticipates, plans and prepares for chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense support of civil authority (CBRN-DSCA) response operations. When directed, JTF-CS deploys to command and control DOD forces in support of civil authority response operations in order to save lives, prevent further injury and provide temporary critical support to enable community recovery.
