U.S. Army Capt. Thomas Melton, a native of Shreveport, La., and Capt. Mohamed of the 4th Battalion, 22nd Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army, sign a Gazaliyah Guardian's paperwork in the Gazaliyah district, Baghdad, Iraq on Sept. 18, 2008. This mission is part of the Iraqi governments assumption of control of the area Sons of Iraq (Abna Al Iraq). Melton is Commander, Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
