    Recruits of Platoon 3025, Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, iron labels onto their uniforms Feb. 18, 2014, during free time on Parris Island, S.C. Recruits are allotted one hour of free time at the end of the day when they can prepare their uniforms and equipment, work out or read letters from home. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate April 25, 2014. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
