The 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) team has already inspected thousands of plates since arriving in late January. Each plate is thoroughly inspected on the outside for damage to the exterior. It is then leaned on and pressed down on each side. This process allows the plate team to listen for any creaking or squeaking sounds, which might potentially expose cracks or breaks in the ceramic plating.
