Community gains new school, friends at Cobra Gold 14 dedication ceremony

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Roger F. Mathews, deputy commander of U.S. Army Pacific, thanks engineers for their hard work after a dedication ceremony Feb. 19 at Ban Sa la Kai Fub School as part of Exercise Cobra Gold 2014 in Sukhothai province, Kingdom of Thailand. The school hosted an engineering and civic assistance project during Exercise Cobra Gold 2014, a multinational exercise that promotes regional partnership, prosperity and security in the Asia-Pacific region. The project has seen cooperation from members of the Royal Thai Army, Singapore armed forces, Malaysian armed forces, and the U.S. Army and Air Force to build a new multipurpose building for the school. The majority of engineers are with the 176th Engineer Company with the Washington National Guard. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Tyler Meister)
