U.S Army Spc. Pedro F. Romero (on his knees) a combat medic from U.S. Army South practices with a group of Guatemalan army soldiers the proper procedure to transport a casualty during a tactical situation. Also, U.S Army Spc. Rebekah Montes and Pfc. Jesus Ortiz, both combat medics from the 335th MC Company in U.S. Army Reserve in Puerto Rico, participated during this event. U.S. Army South deployed a small team of experts to Guatemala to participate on a tactical combat life saver subject matter expert exchange (SMEE). This subject matter expert exchange involved personnel from Guatemala and U.S. Army South working together to share combat medical tactics, techniques and information to enhance and sustain their military medical program and capability.
