Staff Sgt. Roberto Ramirez, platoon sergeant, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, and a native of Northbrook, Ill., coordinates small-arms fire during a live-fire exercise at Range 400 at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Jan. 22, 2014. Range 400 provides Marines with realistic training to help sharpen their skills and challenge their endurance and focus under stress, said 1st Sgt. Don Ketcham, Alpha Co. first sergeant and a native of Union City, Calif. The battalion conducted company size attacks on the range for their second live-fire event of their Integrated Training Exercise. ITX is a 30-day training evolution to prepare them for their upcoming combat deployment.
