A contractor troubleshoots an Automated Tactical Ammunition Classification System (ATACS) Jan. 14 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. In December 2013, this ATACS inspected and sorted approximately 614,000 rounds of 9 mm ammunition brought in from various amnesty boxes, field exercises and completed missions throughout Southwest Asia. The machine identified 442,000 rounds as serviceable, thereby saving the U.S. government more than $75,000.
