  • Chief Warrant Officer 4 Michael Alford, 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment of the Rhode Island National Guard shows off the patches he's worn in combat missions over 38 years of service.  The patch on his uniform is from Company A, 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, also known as the Comancheros. The patch in his right hand is his current unit serving in Iraq and the patch in his left hand the original Comanchero design from Vietnam.  Alford, a native of Framingham, Mass., was able to fly a mission with his original unit, the Comancheros while serving in Iraq recently.
