A Helicopter Support Team with Landing Support Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, prepare to attach a M777 howitzer to the inbound CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopter at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Dec 6, 2013. The M777 howitzers were to be used for live-fire training events during Exercise Steel Knight 2014, an annual exercise designed to prepare 1st Marine Division for deployment with the Marine Air-Ground Task Force as the Ground Combat Element with the support of 1st MLG and 3rd Marine Air Wing.
