  • Staff Sgt. James Garlitz has been named the 2008 U.S. Army Central Non-commissioned Officer of the Year June 27 in a ceremony at the command's headquarters at Fort McPherson, Ga. Garlitz, who represents 1st Sustainment Command (Theater), is one of seven warriors who competed for the top honor. During the three-day competition in Atlanta June 23-27, the Soldiers faced rigorous tests that challenged every aspect of their training, skills and abilities.
