Pentagon Sept. 11 Memorial: A Place to 'Remember, Reflect, Renew'

Julie Beckman and Keith Kaseman, the married duo who designed the Pentagon Memorial, visit their almost-completed creation, Aug. 28, 2008. The architects' design proposal was chosen from more than 1,100 submissions in March 2003. The memorial, Beckman said, will provide a "very special place on earth" dedicated to the memory of the 184 people who died in the, Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the Pentagon.
