2nd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment Commander, Lt. Col. Kevin Christensen (left) and 1st Sgt. After 15 months in Iraq, the 'Gunslingers' were officially replaced in their role as the attack aviation asset for Multi-National Corps – Iraq by their sister battalion, 3rd Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment. Both units hail from Illesheim, Germany, and work for U.S. Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.
