Quick Strike Battalion Relieves Gunslingers in Iraq

2nd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment Commander, Lt. Col. Kevin Christensen (left) and 1st Sgt. Edgardo Cuadrado furl their unit colors during a transfer of authority ceremony, Aug. 18, 2008. After 15 months in Iraq, the 'Gunslingers' were officially replaced in their role as the attack aviation asset for Multi-National Corps – Iraq by their sister battalion, 3rd Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment. Both units hail from Illesheim, Germany, and work for U.S. Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.
