Instructors of the Counter Improvised Explosive Device Train-the-Trainer course prepare to begin class, Aug. 21, 2008. The 19 Marines from many different units, attached to logistics and infantry battalions, who attended the three-day course leave prepared to teach their own unit a regional specific CIED course. Since IEDs vary, depending on complex regional influences, each student is first taught a broad overview and then taught IED tactics specific to their area of operations.
