Gen. Iwata congratulates Co-op class 70 member

Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Chief of Staff Gen. Kiyohumi Iwata gives hearty congratulations to JGSDF’s Sgt. 1st Class Shuichiro Kozai during a luncheon honoring Kozai and eight other JGSDF members who are at Camp Zama for Cooperative Work Program class 70. Kozai had just delivered impressive remarks, in English, to the assembled group. The nine JGSDF members receive 10 weeks of immersion working side-by-side with U.S. Army soldiers. This program also affords them a chance to practice and improve their English. Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Steven L. Payton add their congratulatory applause. (Photo by Kiyoshi Tokeshi)
