Leaders of the 174th Fighter Wing and the New York National Guard cut the ribbon officially opening the new $5.1 million Launch and Recovery Hangar housing two MQ-9 aircraft at Wheeler Sack Army Airfield on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Pictured (from left) are: New York Air National Guard Command Chief Master Sgt. Richard King; 174th Attack Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Johhn Youngs; 174th Attack Wing Commander Col. Greg Semmel; Assemblyman Kevin Blankenbush; retired Maj. Gen. Mike Hall, former 174th Fighter Wing commander and former adjutant general of New York; and Brig. Gen. Anthony German, chief of staff for the New York Air National Guard. The launch and recovery facility will house two MQ-9 aircraft and provide a permanent base for 174th Attack Wing operations at Fort Drum.
