Col. John Farnam, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., commanding officer, speaks to media about motorcycle safety training aboard MCAS Miramar, Nov. 5. The air station, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, California Highway Patrol, San Diego Police Department and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation teamed up to spread the word about a new motorcycle safety grant which allows the highway patrol to fund a series of yearlong outreach programs throughout California and 60 motorcycle and road sharing presentations to raise awareness about motorcycle safety for riders and drivers.
