  • A Soldier from the 143rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, fires a machinegun during base defense exercises at Fort Bragg.  The 143rd ESC is training at Fort Bragg to prepare for deployment to Afghanistan in the spring.
  • Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), headquartered in Orlando, Fla., participated in a mass casualty exercise here, Sept. 24. During the exercise, several 143d soldiers performed roles as casualties resulting from a mock attack. Soldiers from the New York National Guards’ 222nd Military Police Company treated casualties and reacted to potential threats at one of the base entry control points during the exercise. Similar exercises are conducted randomly throughout the year to ensure units are prepared for any event. The exercise is designed to test every first responder on base, such as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, medics, quick response forces, explosive ordinance teams and military police.
  • Soldiers of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) conduct a rehearsal of concept drill here, Sept. 20. The ROC drill simulates how the 143d ESC provides sustainment support for contingency operations throughout their area of responsibility.  Among those in attendance were Maj. Gen. Kurt J. Stein, commander of the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) and Brig. Gen. Bryan W. Wampler, commander of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), who offered insights and advice to the group.
  • Under the watchful eye of a First Army trainer, Soldiers from the 143rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command engage targets during base defense training. The Orlando, Fl. Based 143rd ESC is conducting post-mobilization training at Fort Bragg prior to deploying to Afghanistan this spring.
