Soldiers, family members and friends gathered at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center for the 7th Inf. Div. Ball, marking the one-year anniversary of the re-activation of the division. On Oct. 1, 2012, the 7th Inf. Div., commanded by Maj. Gen. Stephen R. Lanza, was officially reactivated, and on Oct. 10, 2012, a ceremony was held with the five brigades the division had, at that time - the 2-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team; 3-2 SBCT; 4-2 SBCT; 16th Combat Aviation Brigade and 17th Fires Brigade. In the past year, the division saw the addition of two brigades - the 555th Engineer Brigade and the 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, bringing the total to seven.
