Adam Nuckols, a native of Waterford, Mich., who serves as a cavalry scout, Troop C, 4th Battalion, 9th Squadron, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, fires his M4 carbine at a paper target during the kneeling section of the marksmanship phase of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division’s Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Quarter competition on Forward Operating Base Fenty, Oct. 9-11, 2013.
