Philippine Navy Seabees and U.S. Marine combat engineers carry a truss to the building they are renovating Oct. 1 during an engineering civic assistance project at Taysan Elementary School, Legazpi City, Albay, Republic of the Philippines. The ENCAP is one of many humanitarian projects being conducted during Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. Humanitarian and civic assistance projects enable Philippine and U.S. military members to learn about each other’s culture, train together, and improve interoperability, while providing services to areas with identified need. The Seabees are with Naval Forces Southern Luzon, and the combat engineers are with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, which is currently part of 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
