Lt. Col. Jason Brown, receives a gift from Masahiro Atobe Aug. 30 during a mayors visit as part of Artillery Relocation Training Program 13-2. Brown visited the mayor to discuss the safe nature of the live-fire artillery training taking place at the Ojojihara Maneuver Area. Brown is the commanding officer of 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force and Atobe is the mayor of Ohira Village. The Marines participating in ARTP 13-2 are with Battery C, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, currently assigned to 3rd Bn., 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF, under the unit deployment program.
