U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Zackary Sandoval, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, rings the last alarm during the Patriot Day Retreat Ceremony at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Sept. 11, 2013. Fire departments sound a series of bells when a firefighter dies in the line of duty to alert all members that a comrade made the ultimate sacrifice. The 35th Fighter Wing held this retreat ceremony to pay respect and remember those who were affected by the tragic events that occurred 12 years ago.
