4x A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from the 442d Fighter Wing and 4x Spanish F-18 Hornets flew in formation during Defender Europe 23 over Zaragoza Spain on May 12, 2023.
The 8x ship of aircraft performed dissimilar air combat training (DACT) which was designed to integrate different types of fighter platforms from various units to carry out air combat training in the same airspace. DACT is conducted to strengthen professional allied relationships and enhance overall coordination with allies and partner militaries.
The 8x ship performed a dissimilar formation up final, prior to landing, showcasing the United States’ commitment to our Allies and demonstrating alliance readiness, interoperability, and capability.
