JOHNSTOWN, PA – Soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for the 28th Military Police Company, 165th Military Police Battalion, 55th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, were recognized with a memorial monument during a ceremony on August 8, 2020.
“This monument is dedicated to the memory of the fallen Soldiers of the 28th Military Police Company who gave the ultimate sacrifice in their mission to ASSIST – PROTECT – DEFEND on the homefront and on foreign soil,” a message engraved on the monument.
The Soldiers recognized during the ceremony on the monument were: Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Lightner, Jr., of Holidaysburg, Pa., who died on October 27, 2005; Staff Sgt. Keith Bennett, of Holtwood, Pa., who died on December 11, 2005; Spc. Kirsten Fike, of Bear Lake, Pa., who died on August 10, 2006; Sgt. 1st Class Robert Fike, of Conneautville, Pa., who died on June 11, 2010; and Sgt. 1st Class Bryan Hoover, of Elizabeth, Pa., who died on June 11, 2010.
