The Coast Guard rescued three people and a Chihuahua from the sailboat Missfit 35 miles west of Klamath, California, Sept. 25, 2019. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay watch standers directed the launch of two MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crews after the sailboat’s 52-year-old captain reported the sailboat lost propulsion with 35-knot winds and 15-20 foot seas threatening to capsize the vessel.
