Recruits of Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, completed basic water survival training Aug. 8, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. The recruits conducted a series of exercises that include swimming 25 meters, leaping from a 10-foot tower and shedding combat equipment while underwater. Recruits also learned how to create flotation devices with their uniforms and packs. Echo Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 3, 2014.
