On 19 June, 2014 the CONUS Air Alert Force (3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine
Regiment) conducted a live fire platoon attack during Platinum Lion 2014 at
Novo Selo Training Ground, Bulgaria Platinum Lion includes U.S. Marines
and sailors from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment and 3rd Battalion, 2nd
Marine Regiment, as well as soldiers from Bulgaria, Romania, Azerbaijan and
the United Kingdom. At more than 650 participants, Platinum Lion 14-1 is the
largest exercise to ever take place in Novo Selo Training Area. (Official U.S.
