Capt. Chris Atherton the Operations Officer for the Florida National Guard's 48th CST spent 7 months planning and working with federal, state and local authorities to get the exercise off the ground. After two days, the nearly 20 different agencies have a better understanding of one another and formed relationships which will decrease response times in the case of real-world emergencies.
