    U.S. Coast Guard District 5

Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Cape May, N.J., conduct heavy weather training, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, aboard a 45-foot Response Boat - Medium (RB-M) near the mouth of the Delaware Bay with assistance from Coast Guard Station Indian River, Del., crewmembers. Training to become proficient in heavy weather helps prepare these crews to respond to mariners in distress during adverse weather conditions, and Station Cape May is one of only four heavy weather stations in the Coast Guard authorized to operate the RB-M platform in seas up to 12 feet and winds of 50 knots with a certified heavy weather coxswain.
