LORAIN, Ohio - A U.S. Coast Guard boatcrew returns to Coast Guard Station Lorain aboard a 25-foot Response Boat-Small and another boatcrew departs from Station Lorain aboard a 41-foot Utility Boat during a search for a vessel that was reported to be in distress with four people aboard roughly six miles off shore between Lorain and Vermilion, Ohio, March 14, 2012. The boatcrews, an aircrew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Detroit, the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Thunder Bay, and an aircrew aboard a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130 Hercules plane have been involved during a search of Lake Erie which began after a airplane pilot reported witnessing five red flares being fired from the vessel, and four people aboard with life jackets on and strobe lights activated.
