CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The Coast Guard honored the life of Charles Henry Klingelhoefer, WWI veteran who died during the sinking of the Coast Guard cutter Tampa, by presenting his great-grandniece Diane Voss with his purple heart Feb. 6, 2011.

Klingelhoefer, one of nine siblings, lost his life on Sept. 26, 1918, during a torpedo attack from a German submarine while serving on the cutter Tampa.
