HONOLULU -- Petty Officer 1st Class Ekahi Lee, a boatswain's mate from Station Honolulu, describes the training sessions his crewmembers attended on Nimitz Beach, Kapolei, Oahu June 22, 2011.
The training included the proper usage and handling of emergency signal flares to maintain crew qualifications. The second part of the training included a survival swim where crewmembers learned how to properly enter and exit a life raft.
