The flag was presented in honor of Seward's 20-years of service to the United States and United States Coast Guard following a memorial service in Puyallup, Wash., Monday, August 10, 2009. Seward, a member of Coast Guard Port Security Unit 313 based in Tacoma, Wash., was killed Tuesday, August 5, 2009, after being struck by an alleged drunk driver.
