  • On 12 June a 302nd AW C-130 performs numerous fire retardant drops on the Black Forest fire.
  • Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System Units from the North Carolina Air National Guard, 145th Airlift Wing ( MAFFS 8) and the California Air National Guard, 146th Airlift Wing, Channel Islands (MAFFS 6 ) are activated to assist the Federal and State Forest Service and CALFIRE in containing several fires along central California. The activation began mid-August and is projected to last until beginning to mid-September. With the assistance of the Forest Service, BLM, CALFIRE, and the United States Air National Guard, the MAFFS units are able to lay retardant along fire lines that assist the ground firefighters with containing the wildfires. Available in high definition. 

Stringer Includes : Flight line work by CALFIRE, military maintenance, and Forest Service. Includes takeoffs and landings, loading of the retardant and fuel.
  • National Guard units in Colorado help with containing the Black Forest fire. Available in High Definition.
  • National Guard officials announced all military helicopters that had been fighting the Black Forest Fire are returning to their bases.
