U.S. Marines and Sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa 13 trained Senegalese Companie de Fusilier Marine Commandos in Dakar and Toubacouta, Senegal, April 6, 2013. The training was focused on light infantry tactics and maritime security that helped build proficiency in handling regional stability issues such as drug traffickers or potential hostile activity.

  • Companie de Fusilier Marine Commandos were recognized for completing the light infantry and maritime security training taught by Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Africa Marines and Sailors May9, 2013, after five weeks of training. The week leading up to the graduation the commandos were tested on their retention of the training without assistance from the instructors. Special-Purpose MAGTF Africa strengthens U.S. Marine Corps Forces Africa and U.S. Africa Command’s ability to assist partner nations.
