Coming from a family with a long line of military history, SGT Patrocinio Salas, nicknamed Pat, thought he was destined to join the Army. He said his passion for music led him from active duty into the National Guard to pursue a career in music. “After getting out of active duty, my PTSD hit hard...it was music that pulled me back together,” Salas said. After attending college for audio engineering, he landed a lead audio-visual technician position at Rice University. “Although I was already doing both audio engineering and serving my country, a classroom environment was not exactly what I had in mind,” Salas said. “Army Entertainment will let me truly do what I have always wanted to do.”
