The U.S. Army medics earning their Expert Field Medical Badges (EFMB) during testing on Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Air Field, Hawaii. There were 46 total medics who earned the badge during this test, out of more than 170 who initially started. The Army-wide average rate for earning the EFMB is 17%. Soldiers spent a week testing, which included rendering care to patients in combat medical lanes, completing land navigation, weapons qualification, and a 12-mile ruck march, among other events.
