ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- The 2012 CERDEC Math and Science Summer Camp Program hosted Harford County, Md. students in grades five through 10 for one-week, hands-on science, technology, engineering and math sessions.
The fifth-and-sixth-grade students focused on flight, rocketry and satellites; seventh-and-eighth-grade on robotics; and ninth-and-10th-grade on night vision, sensor, optics and biometric identification. Students conducted hands-on exercises, listened to guest speakers from the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, or RDECOM, and toured its communications-electronics center's labs as well as local industry labs.
