U.S. and Peruvian military engineers are working side-by-side on a clinic construction project in Independencia, Peru, as part of New Horizons 2012. The facility will provide 24 hour emergency care and OB/GYN services to the community. U.S. and Peruvian military engineers are honing their skills and learning from one another while working on the project. New Horizons is an annual U.S. Southern Command-sponsored joint and combined training and humanitarian assistance exercise conducted in Latin American and Caribbean nations.
