Aircrew have been training in simulators in building 108 for many years. Now building 108 is known as the Halvorsen C-17 Aircrew Training Center. It is named for retired Col. Gail Halvorsen, better known as the “candy bomber.” Col. Halvorsen rose to fame by dropping candy attached to parachutes over Berlin during the Berlin airlift in the late 1940’s, but his commitment to supporting those in need continues today. Produced by Airman 1st Class Eric Mann of 1CTCS.
