The crew of USS Wasp, along with Marines and sailors of 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Company C, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, depart from Norfolk, V.A., Apr. 10, 2012. The 26th MEU is currently preparing to support the Commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. Starting this April and continuing through 2015, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star Spangled Banner. The War of 1812 celebration will commemorate the rich Naval history and showcase the capabilities of today's Navy-Marine Corps team. U.S. Marine Motion Imagery by Cpl. Tammy K. Hineline.
