Anticipation mounts as friends and family wait for the 820th Red Horse Squadron's deployed Airmen to return. Though a seven month deployment can be stressful for deployed Airmen, their spouses confront challenges of their own.
Mrs. Carley West Soundbite: “It was really difficult but when I got married, we kind of, that’s the life I signed up for marrying him, and I learned a lot about myself as a wife and a mother while he’s been gone, and I’ve definitely grown a lot since then.”
A loud cheer ushers in the busses as the deployed Airmen step out and into the arms of their loved ones. There were plenty of hugs and kisses to go around, from spouses and pets alike.
A1C Brad Parks Soundbite: “It was like Christmas day except a whole lot better. No, I was extremely excited. I was relieved to be back. It’s been a long deployment. Missed out on a lot with my daughters, but I’m glad I’m back now.”
Finally reunited, these Airmen can now begin to pick up where they left off, in the loving embrace of their families. Airmen First Class, Rachel Maxwell, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Includes sound bites from Carley West, Spouse of returning 820th Red Horse Airman and A1C Ben Parks and family. Available in high definition.
